Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) launched InnovFest 2026, its flagship biennial innovation and entrepreneurship festival, which will also reinforce its commitment to advancing innovation capabilities and strengthening industry collaboration in Brunei Darussalam. InnovFest 2026 will be held at UBD. With the theme “Innovate, Sustain and Scale," the festival brings together students, researchers, start-ups, alumni enterprises and industry partners on a dynamic platform that focuses on translating ideas into practical, scalable solutions. This initiative reflects UBD's continuous efforts towards commercialisation and high-impact innovation.
UBD's Vice-Chancellor, Dr Hazri bin Haji Kifle in his speech said “Innovation is no longer optional - it is essential". Apart from innovating, UBD also needs to ensure that what is produced is sustainable, meaningful and capable of developing into solutions that have a lasting impact on society and economy." Dr Hazri also stressed the important role of universities in bridging the gap between research, enterprise and industry, so that ideas can be translated into tangible results that contribute to national development. More than 24 participants took part in this year's festival, showcasing various projects spanning technology, sustainability and digital solutions. InnovFest 2026 will be held until 29th April, and is open to the public.
